Mommy Geekiness

My boy and I love Star Wars and it's actually a fear of his that our future child will not be interested in science fiction or fantasy. (OMG! What if they like sports or something we don't get?!) So I just told him that we'd start him/her off early and luckily there is no better time than now as being geeky is super, super cool. And it just so happens I found some really cute ways on to start off little-uns right!

Bestie Best Tees

When it comes to Old Navy I have a lot of mixed feelings. 1. I shop there often, 2. I'm often disappointed by their clothing quality and consistency, 3. Then I remind myself how much I paid for said items so I don't feel as crabby, 4. I remember that Target sells clothes for about the same price but has much better quality and drive across the street. True story.

But all that is for another day. I want to share with you ON's new FAB commercial!! Features Mr. T and Ana Feris and I lol many a time!

Hardcore Downton

So I don't know if everybody else is as into Downton Abbey as (and my husband!) but it seems like they are. The show is pretty amazing, although Chad does like to point out plot holes, at which point I shush him with a friendly slap. It appears that even SNL has caught on to 'manor house" intrigue! Unfortunately this clip is of a TV with the skit....you'd think we could do better...but I'm not that savvy yet so no judging!

German Goodness

On Thursday I was introduced by Michelle & Wookie to Flula, a man, if I may call him such, who combines two of my favorite things: silliness and germanness (germaness? idk). This guy is freaking hilarious and I'll start you off slow and will end with a very special haiku!

Review: Chronicle

My house is suddenly floored and Lumber Liquidators is missing a shipment. My lawn is always immaculate and perfectly cut. The laundry seems to move itself from the bedroom to the washer/dryer and back without ever touching a hamper. I never have to wait in line at Joann's for my fabric to be cut for an hour.

These are the lame-ass powers that a chick in her late twenties would find most valuable had I stumbled upon the super telekinesis granted in the movie CHRONICLE.

Chad and I went to see the film last Saturday and were pretty impressed, especially after having to sit through previews that seemed to confirm the idea that Hollywood has really given up for the most part.

If signs were really helpful....

Yet, Chronicle is a real treat. The film is not only well written, directed and acted it is also thought provoking while still renaming well-paced and entertaining. Chronicle is a "found footage" film that explores the ramifications of giving teenage boys super powers. All three handle their gift differently and their traditional rolls in teenage society begin to change; what has brought them together can break them apart.

All in all, I really liked the film, and I get the found footage angle although I don't think it would have taken anything away from it had it just been filmed regularly. I think they wanted a lot of shots of Andrew (who looks a hell of a lot like a you Leo DiCapio) looking moodily into the camera which you really can't get away with otherwise. I give it two geeky thumbs up!!

Slow Jammin' the News with Briwill.i.am

If i had to hear that President Obama had made such a silly decision, then I guess this is the way I would want to hear it. Hell, I want to hear all my news this way!
